Questions, answered straight.
Everything people actually ask before they join — including the awkward ones. If yours isn't here, ask in Discord and we'll answer it there and add it here.
Joining the city
How do I get whitelisted right now?
Join the Discord, get verified, read the rules and press the whitelist button. There's no written application before launch and nothing to wait on. After launch, whitelisting goes back to a written character application that staff read. Full walkthrough on How to Join.
Do I need to have roleplayed before?
No — and right now that matters less than it ever will. The city is new, so nobody has a head start on you and every story in it is still being written. Say you're new when you arrive and we'll help you find your feet.
How old do I have to be?
Eighteen. We're an adults-only community with no exceptions, and that applies during the founder window exactly as it will afterwards.
Can I bring friends?
Yes. Everyone whitelists themselves individually, but there's nothing stopping a group arriving together. Everyone gets a referral code too — whoever you bring starts with a welcome vehicle, and you get looked after once they've actually played. Crews start somewhere.
Before you connect
What do I need to play?
A legitimate copy of GTA V on PC and the FiveM client. Everything else is downloaded when you connect. We're not available on console — that's a FiveM limitation, not ours.
What sort of PC do I need?
If you can run GTA V comfortably, you can run Uncharted. A roleplay city streams a lot more custom content than singleplayer does, so an SSD and a decent amount of RAM make the biggest difference — mostly to how long you wait at the loading screen rather than to your frame rate.
Do I need a microphone?
Yes. The city runs on in-game proximity voice — it's how people talk to each other, and it's most of what makes a scene work. A microphone is required.
Can I use graphics mods?
Visual mods are fine. Graphics packs, reshades and texture mods are your business and plenty of people run them. Anything that gives you an advantage — menus, trainers, cheats, exploits — is an instant permanent ban. See the rules.
Can I connect through a VPN?
Not by default. VPNs and proxies are blocked, because they're the usual route back in for someone who's already been banned. If you genuinely need one, open a ticket in Discord and we'll allowlist you.
Where is the server hosted?
In the United States, with the connection edge in Atlanta. The community is English-speaking and people play from both sides of the Atlantic.
Money, characters and fairness
Does it cost anything?
No. The city is free to play and always will be. There's a supporter store if you want to help keep the lights on, but nothing in it buys you an advantage.
Is it pay-to-win?
No. Supporter perks are cosmetic, convenience and queue priority — never damage, speed or access. Every vehicle sits on a performance ladder for its class, so money can't buy a faster car than the class allows, and there are no one-tap headshots to buy your way around.
How many characters can I have?
Three. Elite supporters get a fourth and Legend a fifth. If a tier lapses the extra characters lock rather than getting deleted — they're waiting if you come back.
Is there a queue?
There is, and being whitelisted keeps it moving. Supporters get priority, and if you crash on the way in you keep your place rather than dropping to the back. After a restart people get ramped back in gradually instead of all at once.
Can I stream it?
Yes, and we'd like you to — there's a short application first, see the streamers page. Venue music, jukeboxes and karaoke all run on a catalogue we host and licence ourselves, so a night at the bar won't put a copyright strike on your channel.
Money and progress reset when we launch. Your characters don't. Names, appearance and the Founder role all carry over. We're rebalancing the whole economy from the ground up, and starting everyone level on day one is the only fair way to do it — nobody walks into launch day with a pre-launch fortune. So play now to shape the city and help us find what's broken, not to bank a head start.
